Oh, I know I have it better than a lot of would-be comics buyers, and that’s what worries me. I’ve had it with the self-appointed gatekeepers in comics.
I have had similar experiences in comic shops- the most memorable were these:
A good comic shop is supposed to make you be excited about comics- make you want more and read more and interact with the community.
There are a few shops around that make you feel truly welcome and comfortable and I am lucky that I have one of those here in Portland- Floating World Comics. If you find a gem of a store like that…hold on to it!
